Dorcas Phillips Ward

SAVANNAH - Dorcas Phillips Ward died July 6, 2009 at Hospice Savannah. She was a native of Ellenton, Fl., the proprietor of "Ward's Flowers, Flowers by Dorcas" in Bradenton, Fl. and after retiring, moved to Savannah in 1982. Her beloved husband, Reuben McCartney Ward and her parents, Paul and Lula Phillips, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her six children and their spouses, Melanie and Sam Edwards, Phyllis and Arthur Weil, Candace and Arthur Peagler, Stephen Daniel and Joyce Ward, Beth Durden Smith, Reuben Mark and Lynette Pennington Ward, all of Savannah and nine grandchildren, Kenneth Meinhardt II of Statesboro, Jason Elias Joiner of Savannah, Stephanie Danielle Ward of Charlotte, N.C., Jordan Colson Peagler of Santa Monica, Ca., Adrienne McGuire Durden, Courtney Briana Ward, Mitchell Cody Pennington, Lakelyn McKall Ward and Ian Bishop Adrian Ward of Savannah, a sister, Iris Luke of Ellenton, Fl., two brothers, Paul Phillips of Cleveland, Tn. and George Phillips of Chesnee, S.C.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 8, 2009, 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Graveside Service will be at Palmetto Cemetery, Palmetto, Fl. on Friday, July 10, 2009.
